Hearing Horton Hearing A Who

One of the hidden perks regarding children is that all of a sudden you can take a couple in tow and not feel embarrassed to walk into a kids' film. A few weeks ago the fam and I descended upon the new animated film, Horton Hears A Who. Not only were the kids entertained - including my cackling 21 month old - but there was a valuable lesson to be learned, as you'd expect from the wonderful Dr Seuss. You see, a person's a person no matter how small. I've got to say, it is experiences at the cinema like I had watching Horton that continue to nourish my belief that films can be a significant missional tool for reaching into our culture by disciples. That's another article. Or, some of you may suggest, that's another hobby horse! Suffice to say, we were able to have a conversation around the dinner about "where God was" in the film we'd just seen.
