The Legacy Of Iron Man

What's your legacy? It's a good question. And in the recent blockbuster, Iron Man, this question remains prominent despite the special effects, the huge budget and the unshakeable feeling that you are watching a cool, cool movie. So let me bring you up to speed with the context that legacy emerges from in Iron Man (by the way...a really good, good film). Robert Downey Jnr is Tony Stark, former child prodigy and now cutting edge weapons manufacturer, with all the trappings of wealth and fame. He wins awards, bags women, is tamed somewhat by his PA, Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and drives his military liaison officer (Terence Howard) crazy with his refusal to be responsible. Stark believes his own spin that without weapons there can be no peace, and proudly introduces his new weapon - the Jericho - with the words: "They say the best weapon is the weapon you never have to fire...I say, the best weapon is the weapon you only have to fire once."
