Come and visit seniors at work in ministry at Marion, SA church where we believe in ministry in the name of Christ to the community. The oldest member is in her 100th year and finds satisfaction and joy helping in a variety of ways in "Good Gear" our recycled clothing and giftware shop adjacent to the church complex. The supervisor Gwen and fifty willing workers including men and women, on a roster of about ten people three days a week and two people on Saturday morning. They work diligently to sort, wash, iron, mend and tag the garments and gifts for sale at bargain prices. Boxes of clothing are sent to Russia and our indigenous people. The money from sales helps support three children in overseas countries and many other missionary projects including motor bikes for pastors in Zimbabwe. A large amount of the proceeds has paid off the loans on additional properties purchased by the church for use by "Good Gear," a youth centre and a community centre plus many other church projects.

Dear June,

Your article on"Seniors in Ministry" comes as a breath of fresh air and I thank the Lord for all that you Seniors are doing at Marion. I have personally seen something of your splendid work. When I reached "retirement", I thought my Ministry would gradually dry up but, thanks to Paul Hammat, one of our South Australian ministers who introduced me to the Internet, a whole New World in Cyberspace has opened up to me - at 83 years young. Now I cannot find enough hours in the day to conduct my on-line Ministry teaching the Gospel, Islam, the Hindi language and caring for the needs of Leprosy sufferers, widows and orphans. If any of you senior / mature "A.C." readers want to get involved, just go to http://keith.shorturl.com
