Exiles In Cyberia?

“Cyberia” is the land of cyberspace, where today’s children are natives but many parents are confused foreigners. “Our kids are ‘digital natives’, born with a mouse in their hand.” Michael Carr-Gregg has published Real Wired Child (Penguin: 2007) as a parent’s guide to the “increasingly intricate and confusing online terrain of Cyberia.” It is a good read; he is a good communicator. Clearly, the internet is a central factor in our children’s lives. Cyberia is an exciting place, where everything is available. But it is a frontier without laws, where things are not always what they seem and people are not always who they say they are.
