Dear Editor,
The report on the NMC consultations reveals some disturbing trends in our communion. While the group consulted was small and may well be an unrepresentative sample, the trends toward disintegration have been evident for many years. This is despite a number of overhauls of our governance structures and despite (or perhaps, because of) the endless pursuit of ministry models from outside our movement.
We need a wide discussion on these matters. To precipitate such a discussion I’ve outlined below some areas to which we need to give urgent attention.
